A Full Day Tour To Capri From The Amalfi Coast
Dec 25, 2022 By Juliana Daniel

The day I spent in Capri was my favourite of the whole trip to the Amalfi Coast. This day excursion to Capri will be remembered for its azure waves, secret caves, charming beach clubs, and lemons the size of your head.

Now may be an excellent time to include a visit to Capri in your schedule for Italy. Please have faith in me. Even if you don't take my word for it, I'm confident you will after perusing this book and looking at the stunning pictures.

Methods of Transportation To Capri

There are several boat timings and ferry companies to select from if you're staying in a town along the Amalfi Coast. Booking your ferry tickets in advance will ensure you get the time slot you choose. However, the vast majority of people just strolled up to the ferry terminal and boarded the next available vessel. Positano, a lovely town, is where I stayed. Check out my 2-week Italy itinerary if you're interested in learning more about my stay in Positano.

The Perfect Time to Visit Capri

During the summer, you must visit Capri! It would help if you made the most of your time here by going on boat rides, lounging on the beach, swimming in the clear blue seas, and relaxing on the charming patios.

The best time to visit is between the end of spring and the beginning of October. However, if you can plan your trip during the off-season, you may save money and avoid crowds. However, remember that Capri is mainly a summer vacation spot.

What To Bring For A Day Trip To Capri

Since you've come to read a schedule, the last thing I'll do is boring you with a detailed list of what to bring. However, there are a few essentials that I always make sure my friends and family know to pack for a vacation like this! Here are the three things that you really must have in Capri, in my opinion:

Sunblock For Sun Babes

You shouldn't go snorkelling or swimming near coral reefs if your sunscreen includes compounds known to damage them. Sun Bum, available on Amazon, was the only sunscreen I used. It doesn't cause excessive oiliness or breakouts, has a pleasant scent, and works well for me.

Adorable Sun Cap

Olive & Pique has the loveliest hats ever, so that's where I always shop for mine. I always wore the same hat throughout my travels—a "Jana!" These are more expensive, and many avoid bringing hats on vacation for fear of damaging them in their suitcases. I searched high and low, and this ASOS one is the closest I could get!

Affordable Sunglasses

That doesn't mean I'm picky about sunglasses, though. Since I am the world's worst sunglass consumer, I buy almost all of my shades on Amazon. The best pair of sunglasses to bring on vacation is an inexpensive pair that you can throw in your luggage in a hurry, wear in the water, and even lose without too much regret.

Capri in A Day: The Ideal Plan!

My favourite part of my two weeks in Italy was a day spent on the island of Capri. There's a particular enchantment about this island that defies explanation. Massive lemons, dozens of ceramics shops with vibrant paint jobs, towering limestone cliffs, secret caves, and azure seas await you. This day excursion to Capri is the perfect way to taste all this charming island has to offer.

Breakfast In The Square and Monte Solaro Chairlift

Following my recommendation and board an early ferry, you may get to Capri before 10 am! Capri and Anacapri are the two major settlements on Capri. Both may be seen on this quick day trip! As soon as the ferry docks, you'll be in Capri's bustling capital.

If you decide to take a boat excursion, this is where you'll find the central plaza and the harbour. Get some breakfast and a refreshing lemonade here before your first adventure! After breakfast, take a cab from the port to Anacapri's Piazza Della Vittoria.

Lunch And Window Shopping at Piazza Della Vittoria

After a morning seeing Monte Solaro, stop by the Piazza Della Vittoria in Anacapri for lunch and some pottery shopping near the chair lift. While Capri is more famous, I liked Anacapri since it was less commercialized.

Evening: Capri Precious Boat Tour and Amalfi Coast Ferry

After lunch, you can arrange a boat excursion to explore Capri from the water. The stunning rock formations, secret caves, and dazzling blue ocean of Capri genuinely enchanted the island. To give you an idea of the timing, I reserved a three-hour boat excursion for 2:00 pm and still made it to the evening ferry back to Positano (around 6 pm).
